About our Angus Beef

Why Choose Black Angus?
Angus cattle are highly prized for beef production because they yield especially tender and flavorful meat due to a natural disposition to marbling.

Why Grass-fed?
Nutritious Grass and Hay are the key points to delicious grass-fed beef. Researches show methods include aeration of the soil, the addition of natural calcium found in our local lime, and the application of liquid minerals that are supplied at the perfect time for the plant to absorb. We keep a close eye on our grass growing so our cattle can graze a high-quality meal during the summertime.

Research indicates Grass-fed beef may help improve your heart health because it contains:

  • Antioxidants such as vitamin E.
  • High amounts of omega–3 fatty acids.
  • Less unhealthy fats or total fats.
  • Lower amounts of bad cholesterol (known as LDL cholesterol) a marker of cardiovascular disease.
  • More conjugated linoleic acid, a type of fat that’s thought to reduce heart disease and cancer risks.

Hay Or Silage

Our livestock gets plenty of Fresh grass during the summertime and in the cold weather, we feed them with Hay or Silage. The difference between Hay and Silage varies differently.

Moisture: Grass used for hay needs to be extremely dry. The maximum moisture level is around 12 percent. While the moisture content of silage is between 40 and 60 percent. In some cases, a moisture level between 62 and 68 percent is used. Hay storage is simple and easy. It is stored in bales. Silage bales must be covered in layers of plastic wrap. This is necessary to keep out all oxygen. Both methods keep them still grass-fed even through the harsh winter.
